Open Content and select Motion. Owners, admins and operators can create, edit, export and attach animations; other roles can view them. An animation is a short timeline (3 to 30 seconds) of scenes. Each scene holds elements from a fixed library: kinetic text (type-on, word by word, highlight, counting numbers), shapes, icons, charts (bars, bar race, line, donut), process diagrams with animated connectors, lists that build, a logo reveal, a workspace image with a slow Ken Burns zoom, and vector illustrations. Colours and fonts always come from your brand kit.

Start an animation

  • From a template. Choose a canvas (Square 1:1, Portrait 4:5 or Landscape 16:9), then Use template: Stat reveal, 3-step process, Before → after, Myth vs fact, Chart story or Quote card. Templates work without AI; replace the placeholder words and figures.
  • From a post. Open a saved post draft and choose Animate this. The animation starts as a quote card of the post’s opening line.
  • From Visual Studio. Open a saved carousel or infographic in Visual Studio and choose Animate. Each slide becomes a scene, timed to fit 30 seconds.

Edit scenes and elements

The editor has three columns: Scenes on the left, the preview in the middle, and the Inspector on the right.
  1. Select a scene to edit its Length, Background and Transition in. Use the arrows to reorder, or duplicate, delete or add scenes (up to 12).
  2. Select an element to edit its words, colours (brand roles such as accent or ink), effect, start time, duration, enter and exit motion and Easing, and its position on the canvas. Add element places a new one.
  3. Drag the playhead to check any moment. Choose Save when you are done; every save keeps a version.
If your device asks for reduced motion, the preview opens on a still frame with a Play animation button and never plays on its own.

Use AI

AI uses your workspace’s model for visuals and one credit per request. It only proposes a timeline from the fixed library; it never writes code.
  • Generate animation designs the whole animation from a brief, or from the post it was made from.
  • Regenerate this scene redesigns the selected scene only. You can add an instruction such as “show it as a 3-step flow”.
  • Shorter and Punchier rework the whole animation.
Save your changes first. A request is never retried automatically.

Evidence needed

Every number on screen — in text, a counting number or a chart — must appear in an approved claim in your Business Vault or in the evidenced claims of the post the animation came from. Until then the editor shows Evidence needed. You can still download files to review them, but they are not saved to your workspace or attached to posts.

Export and attach

  • MP4 (feed) renders H.264 video at the canvas size and frame rate. Use it for LinkedIn posts: native video plays automatically in the feed.
  • GIF ≤ 5 MB renders a looping GIF. If the file would be larger than 5 MB, Entryway lowers its size, frame rate and colours and tells you what changed. Use GIFs where a looping image is needed; LinkedIn does not document how GIFs behave in feed posts.
  • PNG poster saves the still frame used as the cover.
Each export downloads to your device and, once the evidence check passes, is checked by the server and saved privately to your workspace files. Under Attach to a post draft, choose a post and Attach MP4 or Attach GIF. A post carries one video or GIF, so attaching replaces the post’s other files. Publishing attached files follows your workspace’s existing media settings.
MP4 export needs a browser that can encode H.264 video: current Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, or Safari 17 or later. GIF and PNG exports work in other browsers.
You can also add an exported MP4 or GIF to a content set as its Animated graphic member in Briefs & sets.

Vector illustrations

Under Vector illustrations, describe an illustration, icon, diagram or simple scene, choose its shape and choose Draw · 1 credit. The model for visuals draws it as SVG in your brand colours. Entryway checks every drawing with a strict safety filter (no scripts, links, external files or embedded web content), keeps a record of who asked and which model drew it, and saves a PNG you can use as a Visual Studio image, in Motion scenes (its parts appear one after another) and on posts. For photo-style pictures, use Image & video.
