# LinkedIn limits and pacing

> The built-in daily and weekly limits, working hours, warm-up and spacing that protect every connected LinkedIn account.

Every connected LinkedIn account works within a conservative safety profile. You do not need to configure anything to get it. No one can honestly promise that LinkedIn will never restrict an account, so Entryway keeps volumes modest and pauses when LinkedIn pushes back.

For what LinkedIn's terms say about automation, and how these limits compare with our LinkedIn provider's published guidance, see [LinkedIn safety, limits and terms](https://growth.entryway.ai/linkedin-safety).

## Built-in limits

| Action | Default limit |
| - | - |
| Connection requests (invitations) | **75 per day**, and never more than **200 in any rolling 7 days** |
| Messages | **100 per day** |
| Profile views | **100 per day** |
| Search results imported | **1,000 per day**, or **2,500 per day** with Sales Navigator |

These limits apply to the account as a whole and are shared across every sequence that sends from it. A campaign can hold up to 1,000 people; a larger campaign takes longer, it never sends faster.

Unipile, our LinkedIn provider, publishes about 200 invitations a week for paid accounts but about 150 a week without a note for free accounts. On a free account, lower **Invitations per rolling week** to 150 or less.

On a free LinkedIn account, up to 5 invitations with a personal note can go out in any rolling 30 days, which matches LinkedIn's own allowance. After that, invitations are sent without a note.

## Working hours and spacing

* By default, accounts send **Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM** in the workspace time zone. The workspace time zone starts as the workspace owner's own time zone.
* Actions are spaced out with **random pauses of 60 to 300 seconds** (one to five minutes), so activity does not arrive in bursts.
* Nothing sends outside working hours. Work that is due outside them waits for the next working window.

## Warm-up for new accounts

A newly connected account starts at **half** (50%) of its daily limits and rises steadily to the full limits over **14 days**. **Limits & hours** shows when warm-up is active and which day the account is on.

Accounts with fewer than about 150 LinkedIn connections, or recently created accounts, can have trouble delivering invitations. If yours is one of them, set lower limits yourself.

## Changing limits and hours

An owner or admin can lower limits and set working hours for each account:

1. Open **Settings → LinkedIn accounts**.
2. Choose **Limits & hours** next to the account.
3. Enter lower values for invitations per day, invitations per rolling week, messages per day or profile views per day. Leave a field empty to keep the safe default.
4. To change the schedule, tick **Set working hours for this account** and choose the time zone, working days, start and end.
5. Choose **Save limits**.

<Note>
  You can lower limits but not raise them. Every limit is a hard ceiling at or below the published
  recommendations: no account goes above 100 messages or 100 profile views a day, and free LinkedIn
  accounts are capped at 150 invitations a week.
</Note>

## When LinkedIn pushes back

If LinkedIn signals that the account has hit a limit or should slow down, Entryway pauses that kind of action and shows the reason and the date it resumes, for example:

* **LinkedIn invitation limit reached**
* **LinkedIn action limit reached**
* **LinkedIn asked us to slow down**

When the weekly invitation limit is reached, you see **Weekly LinkedIn invite limit reached** with the date invitations resume.

If an account is disconnected or needs attention, sending from it stops until it is reconnected and deliberately resumed. Reconnecting never silently replays queued work. See [LinkedIn accounts](/workspace/linkedin-accounts).

## Your responsibilities

You remain responsible for your LinkedIn account and for following LinkedIn's User Agreement and Professional Community Policies. Do not use several accounts or workspaces to get around limits. See the [Acceptable Use Policy](https://growth.entryway.ai/acceptable-use).
