# Visual Studio: carousels, images, decks and guides

> Design LinkedIn carousels, headline images, infographics, slide decks and lead magnets in your brand, check them for legibility and export them.

Visual Studio turns your words into branded visuals that are checked for legibility before you can export them. Open **Content**, choose **Post** mode and select **Visuals**. Your designs are listed there; choose one to open it in the editor. Owners, admins and operators can create and edit designs.

## Formats

| Format | What it is | Sizes | Pages | Exports |
| - | - | - | - | - |
| **Carousel** | A swipeable LinkedIn document post | Portrait 4:5, Square 1:1 | 5 to 20 (6 to 12 recommended) | PDF, PNG |
| **Headline image** | One image that makes a text post stand out: a headline, quote or figure | Portrait 4:5, Landscape 1.91:1 | 1 | PNG |
| **Infographic** | One image of a process, comparison, timeline or set of figures | Portrait 4:5, Tall 9:16, Square 1:1 | 1 | PNG |
| **Slide deck** | A 16:9 presentation | Widescreen 16:9 | 6 to 15 | PowerPoint (editable), PDF, PNG |
| **Lead magnet** | A short branded guide or checklist | US Letter, A4 | 3 to 10 | PDF, PNG |

Each format has its own layouts, such as a cover hook, a point, a quote, a figure, before and after, steps, a checklist, a timeline or a comparison table.

## Create a design

1. Choose the **Format**, the **Size**, a [brand kit](/workspace/brand-kit) (or none) and a **Theme**.
2. Under **Start from**, choose **An idea** and write what it should say, or **A saved post**.
3. Choose **Lay out my text** to place your own words into layouts without AI, or **Design with AI · 1 credit** to have AI write and lay out the pages. Only facts you include, or approved Vault claims, can appear as figures.

## Edit it

* Select any text on the page to edit it in place. Esc closes the editor.
* Change a page's **Layout**, add or remove pages, add an image from your workspace files with its alt text, and add speaker notes to deck slides.
* **AI on this page only · 1 credit each**: **Rewrite**, **Shorter** or **Punchier** changes one page and leaves the others alone.
* **Brand & theme** sets the display name, handle, footer, logo, headshot, heading and body fonts and colours for this design, starting from the brand kit.
* Every save is kept. **Version history** lets you restore an earlier version as a new one; nothing is overwritten.

## Legibility checks

Export stays unavailable until every page passes. Each problem names the page and what to do:

* text that does not fit at the minimum readable size, or runs over the word or line limit
* text contrast below 4.5:1 (3:1 for large text), or text on a photo without a scrim
* anything outside the safe margin
* characters the chosen font cannot draw

Choose **Edit** to fix it yourself or, for text that is too long, **Fix with AI** to shorten the page so it fits (1 credit).

## Export and use it

Choose **Export**. When every page passes, the export window shows **Passes legibility checks** and offers:

* **Download:** **PDF** (selectable text in the embedded fonts, sharp shapes and your images; lead magnets add bookmarks and a linked contents page), **PNG** (one image, or a zip of every page) and, for decks, **PowerPoint (editable)** with editable text boxes. PowerPoint names the fonts rather than embedding them, so **Download the font files** (free, SIL Open Font License) for identical line breaks.
* **Save to workspace files:** stores the PDF, PNG or PowerPoint file privately in your workspace and verifies it.
* **Attach to a post draft:** adds the file to a post draft. Approval covers the attached file, so the draft returns to review.
* **Companion post:** **Create companion post draft** writes a post to go with the visual, with an optional download link, saved as a draft for review.

<Info>
Publishing a document or image post from Entryway needs publishing switched on for your
workspace. Until then, the draft keeps the file for review and you can post it on LinkedIn
  yourself.
</Info>

Visuals can also be made as part of a [content set](/content/briefs-and-sets).
