# Audiences and lead lists

> Where the people in a campaign come from: your Vault audience, a LinkedIn or Sales Navigator search, or a CSV file, and how to keep lists clean.

## Ways to find people

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Job titles and keywords from your Vault" icon="book" defaultOpen>
    In the guided campaign flow, **Who should this campaign reach?** starts from the job titles in
    your [Business Vault](/vault/overview). Add or remove titles and keywords for this campaign
    without changing your Vault. Entryway runs the search on your own connected LinkedIn
    account.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="A LinkedIn search address" icon="link">
    Set up a search on LinkedIn with the filters you want (for example location, industry or
    company size), copy the address from your browser bar and paste it into Entryway. Supported
    addresses are:

    * a LinkedIn **people** search (the People tab)
    * a Sales Navigator **lead** search
    * a Sales Navigator **lead list**

    A single profile, a company page, a Sales Navigator account page or a non-LinkedIn address is
    not accepted, and Entryway tells you why. Sales Navigator addresses need a Sales Navigator
    subscription on the connected account.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="A CSV file" icon="file-csv">
    In **Leads → Import people**, upload or paste a CSV file of people you already have. A file can
    hold up to **1,000 rows** and be up to 1.8 MB. Each row needs a LinkedIn `/in/` profile address
    (or a provider ID) so it can be matched. CSV imports do not use a LinkedIn account's daily
    import allowance.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="A LinkedIn search in Leads" icon="magnifying-glass">
    In **Leads → Import people**, choose **LinkedIn search**, the account to search with, regular
    LinkedIn or Sales Navigator, a search address or keywords, and a maximum. The import reads the
    first page; **Resume** continues from where it stopped. The account's daily import allowance is
    shown beside the import.
  </Accordion>
</AccordionGroup>

## Search limits

<Info>
  LinkedIn shows at most **1,000 people per search** (**2,500 with Sales Navigator**). Entryway
  imports up to 1,000 people per batch, and a campaign holds up to **1,000 people**. To reach
  everyone in a larger market, narrow your filters or split the search into several, for example
  by location or seniority.
</Info>

## Importing people step by step

**Leads → Import people** has four steps: **Source**, **Preview & dedupe**, **Choose list** and **Import**. Nothing is contacted at any step.

* **Preview & dedupe** checks the columns and LinkedIn profile links before anything is saved. Rows without a usable identity are flagged.
* When you import, people already in the workspace are matched by their LinkedIn profile and merged. Their owner, lists and history are kept; nothing is overwritten.
* The result shows new people, people already in the workspace, and people who stay excluded, with the reason.

<Note>
  Importing or listing a person never enrolls them in a sequence. Adding people to a campaign is a
  separate, deliberate step.
</Note>

## Working with lists

* **Saved lists.** Choose a list in the left rail, search it, and use **Add filter** to filter by owner or by outreach eligibility. Remove a filter from its chip.
* **Person details.** Open a person to see the fields that were supplied, where the record came from, when it was retrieved, its ownership history and **Why this person is in your audience**, a written reason you can edit. Entryway does not give people an AI fit score.
* **Actions on a selection.** Select people to **Add to sequence**, **Add to list**, **Exclude** or **Export CSV**.

## Exclusions and stop lists

* **Exclude a person** to keep them out of every sequence. Excluding asks you to confirm and cannot be undone.
* **Company exclusions** keep everyone at a named company out of outreach, including people imported later. Matching uses the exact company name (ignoring capitals and extra spaces), so add subsidiaries or other spellings separately.
* People who replied, opted out or are on your stop list are skipped automatically when a campaign is checked. See [Approvals and stops](/safety/approvals-and-stops).

## Ownership

Each person can have an owner in the workspace. Ownership helps teammates avoid contacting the same person twice, and owners, admins and operators can reassign it.
